AIAA SciTech Forum 2026

IDEAS Lab members and collaborators presented three papers at AIAA SciTech Forum 2026 in Orlando, Florida. The work advanced the lab’s research on model-based systems engineering, multidisciplinary design analysis and optimization, reliability studies, and conceptual design for advanced aircraft concepts.

Conference papers from the lab and collaborators included:

• Gradient-Based MDAO Framework for Advanced Aircraft Concepts - Shugo Kaneko, Maxfield Arnson, Hannah Hajdik, Gokcin Cinar, Joaquim Martins, and Alejandra Uranga.
• Weakly Coupling MBSE and MDAO via a Tool-Neutral Authoritative Source of Truth - Paul Mokotoff, Mingxuan Shi, Alexander Carrere, and Gokcin Cinar.
• Reliability and Performance Trade Studies for NASA’s Subsonic Single Aft Engine Aircraft - Paul Mokotoff and Gokcin Cinar.

Together, these papers show the lab’s continued push toward integrated design environments where aircraft architecture, requirements, reliability, and performance analysis can be studied in a connected workflow.

At the forum, Gokcin Cinar also received a plaque recognizing her service as Chair of the AIAA Electrified Aircraft Technology Technical Committee.
