34th Congress of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS 2024)

The 34th Congress of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences brought the aeronautics community to Florence, Italy, for a week of technical exchange across aircraft design, operations, propulsion, systems engineering, and sustainable aviation.

IDEAS Lab researchers and collaborators contributed a conference paper on the operational adoption of hybrid-electric aircraft:

• Optimizing Fleet Assignment Decisions for Regional Airlines with Hybrid Electric Aircraft Uptake - Ben Chan, Yilin Deng, Nick Tran, Michael Ikeda, Gokcin Cinar, and Max Z. Li.

This work studies how regional airlines could integrate hybrid-electric aircraft into existing flight schedules while accounting for charging needs, operating cost, range limits, and fleet assignment decisions.
