Jayda Shine was an undergraduate dual-degree physics aerospace engineering student at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. She went on to transfer to the University of Michigan after her tenure in the IDEAS Lab.

Jayda worked in the IDEAS Lab over the summer of 2023 through the AUCC SURE (Atlanta University Center Consortium Summer Undergraduate Research in Engineering) program. Through this program, she researched tools to provide sustainable aviation in the current aircraft industry. Her research interest lies in electric aircraft and sustainable aviation fuel, including but not limited to rockets. She enjoys exercising, dancing, and watching movies in her free time.
